Weymouth
Weymouth has so much to offer and has everything to make a great memorable holiday, including a beautiful long sandy beach (voted as one of the top ten beaches in the UK). The safety provisions on the beach are second to none and the shallow water makes it ideal for families with young children. Donkey rides, Punch & Judy , trampolines, swinging boats and pedalos mean that there is plenty of entertainment for everyone as well as the more traditional water sport activities.
Away from the beach, Weymouth offers an excellent variety of restaurants, public houses and take-away establishments. Weymouth town centre is close to the Esplanade/beaches and has excellent shopping facilities which include many of the main high street shopping names.
There is also a modern cinema and a bowling alley situated close to Debenhams in the town centre. Other local activities include, cycling, golf, diving, surfing, fishing roller blade, bowls and tennis. There are highly attractive coastal walks with fantastic views across the Bay to Portland.
The bustling harbour in Weymouth is one that can rival any other harbour in U.K.
The unique lifting bridge is one of the main attractions, and is raised at set times to let boats in and out of the inner harbour marinas.
Weymouth boast good value high speed ferries to the Channel Islands.
Day trips are available to Jersey & Guernsey and offer very good value for money. The booking office is situated at the end of the Pier, close to the Pavilion Theatre which offers a good variety of shows throughout the season.
